Danozone is currently collaborating with Chris "Dune" Pastras for an upcoming commercial for WeSC. If you've been paying any attention at all, you know Dune is a talented painter. This little ditty they're cooking up combines the artistic skills in his hands with the skateboarding skills in his feet. I caught a sneak peak at the edit and these guys are definitely having fun in Dune's newly-modified backyard shredzone. The creative juices are flowing freely in East LA. Stay tuned for the goods.

I recently spent 8 hours in an olympic-size swimming pool with the lovely LA-based band Warpaint. We made a music video for the self-titled track "Warpaint" off their latest release "The Fool." I brought in Bradley Stonesifer to be my A Cam (insurance policy) so I could focus on getting all the pieces of the puzzle instead of making sure the puzzle pieces were in focus. Jesse can this is not some marketing ploy.. take the man to a huge rail a vert wall a pool shallow and deep end a brick under a pile of wood a wall ride spot a hubba a manny pad a ledge spot a curved ledge a cobble stone and or dirt road a huge frankie hill gap. he can rip it all. from knee tucks to flip in flip out tricks on ledges this dude can skate it all. if chris senn daewon and Rich Adler all were meshed together like that film twins into one skate cyborg it would be jesse. the dude will kill any spot. when we were in NJ the local kids with Chris mean man niratho took us to all these spots. different kids would shred different spots as if it was some kind of sporting event where you had everybody placed in a position. left field batter etc. not jesse he skated everything. he even hung with my ledge nerd ass into the night as I struggled for hours with a trick. all the nj heads left. the whole crew of A.M. wanted to eat. I was dying trying this one move that you will all see soon on A.M. quest for gnar. but jesse kept it real. he skated that ledge with me keeping my hopes up into the night. the dude had a bag of tricks that is so diverse on that ledge I am so tripped out he does not enter a ledge madenss contest or some red bull deal to make cash. or why he does not a have shoe or is on covers every month then I realized he is that raw he just skates no time to capure it all on film or video or to travel to events this goes back to number one. humble as fuck no ego not b/s no demi god shit just raw skating.

3# He knows underground hip hop. Look not to stereotype but most cats that can do a blunt to fakie on a vert wall and can smith grind rails never heard of anticon or kool keith or better lt are friends with ab rude. and are in his video's

4# the dude takes pix of everything . he had his camera on ready in the van for anything we drove by. if he ever looses his mind he will be able to remember everything via photo like that film memento. it is dope I tried to be like this but my card ate shit and I lost the whole trip. But yo J.h. keeps it real in the battlefield.

5# The dude can skate drunk. I cannot even stand on a board with one drink in me but this guy can down a bottle of fire water and still shred.

6# never clowns on anybody. the van was a harsh environment all the heads were pissed at being in the van across the usa and I did not come in till the last wek so I took more flack than roberta people being ruthless to me as well as to everybody but pedro mostly cause Pedro was driving and dealing with their shit he got the UN treatment. Jessse on the other hand was neutral like sweden he never picked a bone with anybody he was chill and never tossed shit anybody's way. the dude plays it mad cool.

7# he was in the video get wasted skating the san diego sorrento vally ditch. this spot is raw as it gets no push room open tj run off water alll over rent a cops at all corners but jess cold kicked it hard and ripped it. look up the video kids.

8# he can puke in his sleep. the guy is so raw and punk rock that gg allen bows to him. even though he is frineds with freestyle fellowship rides satori wheels he is punk rock. fuck anybody who trys to argue with me on this. Jessee is more hard core than a 2 dolor whore. this is why. he can puke in his sleep and not even wake up. for real I watched him puke all over himself and the van and not even wake up. the dude fucking slept in his own puke and it did not faze him i tried to wake him up to try to keep him from going out like jime hendrex but he is to punk to die like that he just started tossing his fist in the air like he was at a sub humans show circa combat 1984 and in an oi punk manner screamed some crazy "bloazoklutraoii" and preceded to punch the dash board that was covered in his own puke till it was spraying all over like a sprinkler . the whole van smelt of vomit and booze and corn chips I have never seen anything this punk not even in east side p town whre junkies shoot up and walk the streets. not even the black flag book. I never seen anything this bad ass. I want to do an art exhibit for all the hipsters in silver skate where i get a cars steering wheel a car seat and a dash board i will set up canvases on an easel and get jessee drunk as fuck to sit in the seat and when he punches the best art the world has ever seen since pollick will happen then when he is done he will be rich.

Back in 2007 we hired Scott Allen Perry to produce a 13-part video series called "Hey Bro." We approved the concept, read and approved scripts and gave him a few dollars to make the first four. A few weeks later he delivered the goods: four funny videos with great production value. Success! Here's more cash SAP, go make more! Well, long-story short the network hated it and said they would take one episode of the four. We thought about it short and soft and passed on that deal and talked SAP into producing another series called "MC Outdoorz." "Hey Bro" was just TOO GOOD so we thought we would have no problem finding a home for it elsewhere. Well, longer story short we never found anyone with the balls to put "Hey Bro" on television so we gave SAP the green light to give it away on the world-wide web. Playing a Black Flag tribute set including such Flag classics as: Nervous Breakdown, I’ve Had It, Jealous Again, Six Pack, My War and others. The night will be complimented by art by JRF and DJ sets by Shepard Fairey. The show is all-ages, (21 and over [with ID] to drink) and will cost you $5 at the door.

It was the beginning of my career and I learned A LOT about photography, design and film. My TWS years will always be near and dear - I moved into the building with a sleeping bag and didn't leave ... I lost a lot of sleep but found lifelong friends. I cut my professional teeth in an office park in Oceanside, CA ... then I travelled the world. Dave Swift, Grant Brittain and I were the big three - we did whatever the hell we wanted with the magazine and we had a damn good time. Originally I started teaching yoga to Ted and Laban, gradually some of the guys who were working and hanging around started doing it too. Now we’re opening it up to the public.

I teach Ashtanga-based Power Yoga, a very vigorous flow. I did my teacher-training with Steven Earth at Earth’s Power Yoga, and I substitute teach and do privates there when needed.

We do a truncated one-hour Vinyasa series. If the need arises for longer classes, or more classes, we will accommodate.

Class starts Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30am SHARP. But come in anyway if you’re late. Entrance is on the corner of Glendale and Branden. Tell your friends. Bring a mat and some drinking water.

We are Donation-based. Suggested donation is 7$, but don’t shy away for lack of funds. Come feel good and be healthy.

Our friend Ian on the cover of Los Angeles mag

This cat named Ian use to live in a tent in our friend Jay's backyard. We built the original American Misfits ramp in that backyard and use to catch glimpses of badass motorcycles Ian was handcrafting in Jay's garage and driveway. As you can see from the cover below, Ian's come a helluva long way since the tent-dwelling days and his Falcon motorcycles are the talk of the town.
